Hadith 6699
Under this chapter, the following sub-chapters and hadiths have been mentioned.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Ma'iz bin Malik came and confessed to adultery once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him back. He came again and confessed to adultery a second time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again sent him back. He came again and confessed a third time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also sent him back this time. I said to Ma'iz: If you confess a fourth time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will have you stoned. Despite this, he came and confessed a fourth time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) detained him and then inquired about him from the people. They said: We know only good about him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to be stoned.
Hadith 6700
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ma'iz bin Malik Aslami came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. He came from the left side and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed adultery, until he confessed before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) four times. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take him away and stone him. The people took him away to stone him. When he was struck with stones, he turned his back and ran swiftly. Meanwhile, a man came from the front, in his hand was the jawbone of a camel, and he struck him with it and killed him. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that he had run away after being struck with stones, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then why did you not leave him alone?
Hadith 6701
(Second chain) A man from among the Muslims was brought to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), while he was sitting in the mosque. The man called out: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face away from him in avoidance. The man came before the Prophet’s face again and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again turned his face away from him in avoidance, until the man repeated it four times and bore witness against himself four times. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him and asked: Are you insane? He replied: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Are you married? He replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take him away and stone him. Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I was also among those who stoned him. We stoned him at the Eid ground. When the stones struck him, he ran away, but we caught him at Harrah and stoned him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man named Ma'iz bin Malik came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed adultery and I want you to purify me. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Go back. He came again the next day and confessed to adultery before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Go back. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the people about him and said: What do you know about Ma'iz bin Malik Aslami? Do you think he is such and such, or do you have any objection to his intellect? The people said: O Messenger of Allah! We do not perceive anything wrong in him, nor do we have any objection to his intellect. Meanwhile, he came back to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a third time and confessed to adultery and said: O Messenger of Allah! Purify me. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again called his people and inquired about him, and they gave the same answer as before: In our opinion, there is nothing wrong with him, nor is there any defect in his intellect. Meanwhile, Ma'iz came back to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a fourth time and confessed to adultery. This time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the order, and we dug a pit for him and buried him in it up to his chest, then the people were ordered to stone him. Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We used to talk among ourselves that if Ma'iz, after confessing to adultery three times, had sat in his house, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not have summoned him, but when he confessed a fourth time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to be stoned.
Hadith 6703
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ma'iz came and confessed to adultery before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) four times. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to be stoned.
Hadith 6704
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that a man from the tribe of Banu Aslam came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and confessed to committing adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. He confessed again, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also turned away from him. He confessed yet again, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face away again, until when he had testified against himself four times, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Are you afflicted with madness?" He replied: "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Are you married?" He replied: "Yes." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, and he was stoned to death at the Eid prayer ground. When the stones struck him, he ran away, but he was caught and stoned until he died. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke good words about him, but did not perform his funeral prayer.
Hadith 6705
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Noble Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, met Ma'iz bin Malik and asked him: O Ma'iz! Is what has reached me true? He said: What thing have you come to know about me? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: It has reached me that you committed adultery with the slave girl of so-and-so. He said: Yes, it happened like that. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent him back, until he testified four times. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered and he was stoned.
Hadith 6706
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: This unfortunate person has committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. Then he confessed a second, third, and even a fourth time. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted from his ride. In another narration, it is mentioned: The man confessed once and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rejected him, until he confessed four times. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and ordered us, so we dug a small pit for him, which was not very deep, and he was stoned. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued the journey in a state of grief and sorrow, and we also traveled with him, until when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped at a place, that state left him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: O Abu Dharr! Did you not see your companion? He has been forgiven and admitted into Paradise.
