بَابُ نَهْيِ الْمُخَيِّينَ عَنِ الدُّخُولِ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ
Chapter: Prohibition for Eunuchs to Enter Upon Women
Hadith 6677
عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَهَا مُخَنِّثٌ وَعِنْدَهَا أَخُوهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ وَالْمُخَنِّثُ يَقُولُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ إِنْ فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ الطَّائِفَ غَدًا فَعَلَيْكَ بِابْنَةِ غَيْلَانَ فَإِنَّهَا تُقْبِلُ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَتُدْبِرُ بِثَمَانٍ قَالَتْ فَسَمِعَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ لَا يَدْخُلَنَّ هَذَا عَلَيْكِ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me while a eunuch was sitting with me, but my brother Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) was also present. That eunuch said to Abdullah: O Abdullah bin Zam‘ah! If tomorrow Allah Almighty grants you victory over Ta’if, then you must surely capture the daughter of Ghilan, because she comes with four and leaves with eight. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard these words from him, he said to Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her): From now on, never let this eunuch enter upon you.
Hadith 6678
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُخَنِّثٌ وَكَانُوا يَعُدُّونَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا وَهُوَ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ وَهُوَ يَنْعَتُ امْرَأَةً فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا إِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ أَقْبَلَتْ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ أَدْبَرَتْ بِثَمَانٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا أَرَى هَذَا يَعْلَمُ مَا هَاهُنَا لَا يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكُنَّ هَذَا فَحَجَبُوهُ
Narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a eunuch used to come to the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). People thought that he was free from carnal desires. One day, when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, that eunuch was present with one of his wives. He began to describe the beauty of a woman, saying that when she comes, she comes with four folds, and when she goes, she goes with eight folds. Upon hearing this, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I did not know that he knows so much. He should not be allowed to come to you in the future. So the people forbade him.
Hadith 6679
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُخَنِّثِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَقَالَ أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ فَأَخْرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فُلَانًا وَأَخْرَجَ عُمَرُ فُلَانًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed those men who adopt effeminacy and those women who adopt masculinity, and said: "Expel the effeminate from your homes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expelled so-and-so, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) expelled so-and-so from the home.
Hadith 6680
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُخَنِّثِي الرِّجَالِ الَّذِينَ يَتَشَبَّهُونَ بِالنِّسَاءِ وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ الْمُتَشَبِّهَاتِ بِالرِّجَالِ وَرَاكِبَ الْفَلَاةِ وَحْدَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed those effeminate men who imitate women, and also cursed those women who adopt the ways of men and imitate them, and also cursed the one who travels alone in the wilderness.
Hadith 6681
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَعَنَ الْمُخَنِّثِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed men who deliberately adopt effeminacy, and cursed women who adopt the ways of men.
