بَابُ تَحْرِيمِ النَّظْرِ إِلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الْأَجْنَبِيَّةِ لِأَنَّهُ مِنْ مُقَدِّمَاتِ الزنا
Chapter: Prohibition of Looking at a Non-Mahram Woman as It Is a Prelude to Adultery
Hadith 6656
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّ الْأُولَى لَكَ وَلَيْسَ لَكَ الْأَخِيرَةُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Do not follow one glance with another glance; the first glance is forgiven, but you are not permitted the second.
Hadith 6657
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ لَكَ كَنْزًا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّكَ ذُو قَرْنَيْهَا فَلَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّمَا لَكَ الْأُولَى وَلَيْسَ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: O Ali! There is a treasure for you in Paradise, you will reside at both edges of Paradise, therefore do not cast a second glance after the first; indeed, you are permitted the first glance, but not the second.
Hadith 6658
عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّ لَكَ الْأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): Do not follow one glance with another glance; the first glance is forgiven, but you are not permitted the second.
Hadith 6659
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُتِبَ عَلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ نَصِيبُهُ مِنَ الزِّنَا أَدْرَكَ لَا مَحَالَةَ فَالْعَيْنُ زِنْيَتُهَا النَّظَرُ وَيُصَدِّقُهَا الْأَعْرَاضُ وَاللِّسَانُ زِنْيَتُهُ النُّطْقُ وَالْقَلْبُ الْمُتَمَنِّي وَالْفَرْجُ يُصَدِّقُ مَا ثَمَّ وَيُكَذِّبُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has written the share of adultery for the son of Adam, he will inevitably get it. The adultery of the eye is looking, then various (spiritual) ailments confirm it. The adultery of the tongue is speaking. The heart desires, and the private parts either confirm all these matters or deny them.
Hadith 6660
عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْعَيْنَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ وَالْيَدَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ وَالرِّجْلَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ وَالْفَرْجُ يَزْنِي
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Both eyes commit adultery, both hands commit adultery, both feet commit adultery, and the private part also commits adultery.
Hadith 6661
عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ حَظُّهُ مِنَ الزِّنَا فَزِنَا الْعَيْنَيْنِ النَّظَرُ وَزِنَا الْيَدَيْنِ الْبَطْشُ وَزِنَا الْرِّجْلَيْنِ الْمَشْيُ وَزِنَا الْفَمِ الْقُبَلُ وَالْقَلْبُ يَهْوَى وَيَتَمَنَّى وَيُصَدِّقُ ذَلِكَ أَوْ يُكَذِّبُهُ الْفَرْجُ وَحَلَّقَ عَشْرَةً ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ أُصْبُعَهُ السَّبَّابَةَ فِيهَا يَشْهَدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ لَحْمُهُ وَدَمُهُ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Every son of Adam has his share of adultery; the adultery of the eyes is looking, the adultery of the hands is touching, the adultery of the feet is walking (towards it), the adultery of the mouth is kissing, and the heart desires and wishes for it, and then the private parts either confirm or deny these matters. Then Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) made a circle of ten with his fingers and inserted the index finger of the other hand into it and said: The flesh and blood of Abu Hurairah bears witness to this.
Hadith 6662
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ عَيْنٍ زَانِيَةٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every eye commits adultery.
