Hadith 6599
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى أَنَّ عَقْلَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابَيْنِ نِصْفُ عَقْلِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَهُمُ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that the blood money (diyah) of the People of the Book, that is, the Jews and Christians, is half of the blood money of the Muslims.
Hadith 6600
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ لَمَّا دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ قَامَ فِي النَّاسِ خَطِيبًا فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا فِيهِ دِيَةُ الْكَافِرِ نِصْفُ دِيَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah in the year of the conquest of Makkah, he stood before the people to address them, … this is a long hadith …, in it the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The blood money (diyah) of a disbeliever is half that of a Muslim.
Hadith 6601
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمُكَاتَبِ يُقْتَلُ يُؤَدَّى لِمَا أَدَّى مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ وَمَا بَقِيَ دِيَةَ الْعَبْدِ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave a ruling regarding the *mukatab* (contracted slave) that if he is killed, then for the portion of his contract that he has already paid, the blood money equivalent to that portion should be paid as for a free man, and for the portion that remains, the blood money should be paid as for a slave.
Hadith 6602
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُؤَدَّى الْمُكَاتَبُ بِحِصَّةِ مَا أَدَّى دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ وَمَا بَقِيَ دِيَةَ عَبْدٍ
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: For a mukatab (contracted slave), the amount he has paid should be compensated as the blood money of a freed person, and for the remaining installments, the blood money of a slave should be given.
Hadith 6603
وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤَدَّى الْمُكَاتَبُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ وَبِقَدْرِ مَا رَقَّ دِيَةَ الْعَبْدِ
(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The blood money of a mukatab will be paid according to the proportion of his freedom, and for the portion in which he remains a slave, the blood money of a slave will be paid.
Hadith 6604
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُؤَدَّى الْمُكَاتَبُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The mukatab will be given diyah according to the amount he has paid.
