Hadith 6524
It is narrated from Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that one morning it seemed that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was feeling heavy. Someone asked him and said: O Messenger of Allah! Why do you seem unwell today? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Actually, Jibreel (peace be upon him) had promised to meet me, but he has neither met me nor has he ever broken a promise before. In any case, Jibreel (peace be upon him) did not come that night, nor did he come the next two nights. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered a puppy under one of our beds to be the cause. He then ordered it to be removed and had water sprinkled on that spot. Just then, Jibreel (peace be upon him) arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: You had promised to meet me, but you did not come? He said: Yes, we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture. From that day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs, (and such strictness was observed in this matter that) when permission was sought regarding the dog of a small garden, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also order it to be killed.
Hadith 6525
Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw signs of sadness on him, so I asked what had happened to him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jibril (peace be upon him) has not come to me for three days. When it was checked, a puppy was found in the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered it to be killed. Meanwhile, Jibril (peace be upon him) appeared before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him, he rushed towards him in happiness and said: Why did you not come to me? He said: We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or pictures.
Hadith 6526
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that Jibreel (peace be upon him) delayed coming to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then when he arrived, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What kept you from coming?" He (Jibreel) said: "We do not enter a house in which there is a dog."
Hadith 6527
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.
Hadith 6528
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Talha Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Angels do not enter that house in which there is a picture and a dog.
Hadith 6529
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to visit the house of an Ansari, and before his house, there were also the houses of some other people. This was very displeasing to the people of those houses, and they said: O Messenger of Allah! It is surprising that you go to so-and-so's house but do not visit our house? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The reason is that there is a dog in your house. In fact, there was a cat in their house. Then the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A cat is also a predator.
