It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person sees the truth, or is present upon it, or hears it, then the awe of people should not prevent him from stating the truth. Abu Sa'id said: I wish I had not heard this hadith.
Hadith 6431
Narrated by Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you who is the best witness? He is the one who gives testimony before he is asked for it.

(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The best testimony is that which the witness presents on his own before being asked.
