Hadith 6258
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أُهْدِيتْ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعٌ لَقَبِلْتُ وَلَوْ دُعِيتُ إِلَى كُرَاعٍ لَأَجَبْتُ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ لَوْ أُهْدِيتْ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If I am given the upper part of the meat (the portion above the shank) as a gift, I will accept it, and if I am invited to the thinner part of the shank, I will accept it.
Hadith 6259
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ ثَارَتْ أَرْنَبٌ فَتَبِعَهَا النَّاسُ فَكُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ سَبَقَ إِلَيْهَا فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَذُبِحَتْ ثُمَّ شَوَيْتُ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ عَجُزَهَا فَقَالَ ائْتِ بِهِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْكَ بِعَجُزِ هَذِهِ الْأَرْنَبِ قَالَ فَقَبِلَهُ مِنِّي
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a rabbit ran and people chased after it. I was the first person to reach it, so I caught it and brought it to Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him). He ordered, so it was slaughtered. Then I roasted it, then he took its hind half and said: Take this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So I brought it to him and said: Indeed, Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) has sent this hind part of the rabbit to you. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted it from me.
Hadith 6260
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنْفَجْنَا أَرْنَبًا بِمَرِّ الظَّهْرَانِ قَالَ فَسَعَى عَلَيْهَا الْغِلْمَانُ حَتَّى لَغِبُوا قَالَ فَأَدْرَكْتُهَا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَذَبَحَهَا ثُمَّ بَعَثَ مَعِيَ بِوَرِكِهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَبِلَ
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Anas says: We chased a rabbit at the place of Marr az-Zahran, the boys ran to catch it, but they became tired and I caught it and brought it to Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him). He slaughtered it and, giving me its haunch, sent me to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted it.
Hadith 6261
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَتْ أُخْتِي تَبْعَثُنِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْهَدِيَّةِ فَيَقْبَلُهَا
It is narrated from the Companion of the Messenger, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: My sister used to send me with a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would accept it.
Hadith 6262
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْبَلُ الْهَدِيَّةَ وَلَا يَقْبَلُ الصَّدَقَةَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to accept gifts but did not accept charity.
Hadith 6263
عَنْ سَلْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ
Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) has also narrated a similar hadith of the Prophet.
Hadith 6264
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ
. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) has also narrated a similar hadith of the Prophet.
Hadith 6265
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِلَحْمٍ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّهُ قَدْ تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ فَقَالَ هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَهُوَ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that meat was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was said to him that this had been given as charity to Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is charity for her and a gift for us."
Hadith 6266
عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَهْدَتْ لَهَا رِجْلَ شَاةٍ تُصُدِّقَتْ عَلَيْهَا بِهَا فَأَمَرَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَقْبَلَهَا
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman gifted her a leg of a goat. This leg had been given to that woman as charity. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed her to accept it.
Hadith 6267
عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ بَعَثَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَبَعَثْتُ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ قَالَ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قَالَتْ لَا إِلَّا أَنَّ نُسَيْبَةَ بَعَثَتْ إِلَيْنَا مِنَ الشَّاةِ الَّتِي بَعَثْتُمْ بِهَا إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا قَدْ بَلَغَتْ مَحِلَّهَا
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Atiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a goat given in charity to her, and she sent a portion of it to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked: "Is there anything to eat?" She replied: "No, except that Naseebah (i.e., Umm Atiyya) sent a portion of that goat which you had given to her." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, it has reached its proper place."
Hadith 6268
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَإِنْ قِيلَ هَدِيَّةٌ أَكَلَ وَإِنْ قِيلَ صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ كُلُوا وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that when food was brought from somewhere other than the house of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he would ask about it. If it was said that it was a gift, he, peace and blessings be upon him, would eat it. And if it was said that it was charity, he, peace and blessings be upon him, would say: "You people eat it," and he, peace and blessings be upon him, would not eat it himself.
Hadith 6269
عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ
Bahz bin Hakim narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, a similar hadith of the Prophet.
Hadith 6270
عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ أَهْدَتْ أُمُّ سُنْبُلَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَبَنًا فَلَمْ تَجِدْهُ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَهَى أَنْ يُؤْكَلَ طَعَامُ الْأَعْرَابِ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا مَعَكِ يَا أُمَّ سُنْبُلَةَ قَالَتْ لَبَنًا أَهْدَيْتُ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ اسْكُبِي أُمَّ سُنْبُلَةَ فَسَكَبَتْ فَقَالَ نَاوِلِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَفَعَلَتْ فَقَالَ اسْكُبِي أُمَّ سُنْبُلَةَ فَسَكَبَتْ فَنَاوَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَرِبَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَشْرَبُ مِنْ لَبَنٍ وَأَبْرَدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كُنْتُ حُدِّثْتُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ نَهَيْتَ عَنْ طَعَامِ الْأَعْرَابِ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَيْسُوا بِالْأَعْرَابِ هُمْ أَهْلُ بَادِيَتِنَا وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ حَاضِرَتِهِمْ وَإِذَا دُعُوا أَجَابُوا فَلَيْسُوا بِالْأَعْرَابِ
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyida Umm Sunbala (may Allah be pleased with her) brought a gift of milk for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but did not find him at home. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden us from eating the food of the Bedouins. Meanwhile, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Umm Sunbala! What is this with you? She said: O Messenger of Allah! It is milk; I have brought it as a gift for you. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Umm Sunbala! Pour it into a bowl. She poured it into a bowl. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hand it to Abu Bakr. She did so. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Umm Sunbala! Pour more. She poured more and handed it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he drank it. When Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was drinking the milk and how much it was cooling his heart, she said: O Messenger of Allah! I was told that you had forbidden the food of the Bedouins? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Aisha! These people are not Bedouins; they are from the outer areas adjacent to our city, and we are from their city. When they are called (for the affairs of the Messenger of Allah and the Muslims), they respond. They are not Bedouins.
Hadith 6271
عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ هَلْ مِنْ طَعَامٍ قُلْتُ لَا إِلَّا عَظْمًا أُعْطِيَتْهُ مَوْلَاةٌ لَنَا مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرِّبِيهِ فَقَدْ بَلَغَتْ مَحِلَّهَا
It is narrated from Sayyida Juwayriya bint Harith (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me one day and said: Is there any food? I said: No, there is nothing, except for that (meaty) bone which was given in charity to our slave-girl. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bring it, bring it near to me, charity has reached its place.
