بَاب دَفْعِ الصَّائِلِ وَإِنْ أَذًى إِلَى قَتْلِهِ وَأَنَّ الْمَصُولَ عَلَيْهِ يُقْتَلُ شَهِيدًا
Chapter: Repelling an aggressor, even to the point of killing, and that the victim is considered a martyr
Hadith 6215
عَنْ قُهَيْدِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنْ عَدَا عَلَيَّ عَادٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكِّرْهُ وَأَمَرَهُ بِتَذْнамِيرِهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَفِي لَفْظٍ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَنْهَاهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنْ أَبَى فَقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنْ قَتَلَكَ فَإِنَّكَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ فَإِنَّهُ فِي النَّارِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qahid bin Mutarraf Ghafari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a questioner asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "If an oppressor attacks me (what should I do)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Advise him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to forbid him three times. If he still does not desist, then fight him. If in that fight he kills you, then you will go to Paradise, and if you kill him, then he will go to Hell.
Hadith 6216
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ عُدِيَ عَلَى مَالِي قَالَ فَانْشُدِ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ انْشُدِ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَانْشُدِ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَقَاتِلْ فَإِنْ قُتِلْتَ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَ فَفِي النَّارِ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! If someone wants to take my wealth unjustly, what should I do? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ask him by Allah (to desist). He said: If he does not accept? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then ask him by Allah (again). He said: If he still does not accept? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For the third time, ask him by Allah. He said: If he still does not accept? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then fight him, and if you are killed in that fight, you will go to Paradise, and if he is killed, he will go to Hell.
Hadith 6217
عَنْ قَابُوسَ بْنِ الْمُخَارِقِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنْ أَتَانِي رَجُلٌ يَأْخُذُ مَالِي قَالَ تُذَكِّرُهُ بِاللَّهِ تَعَالَى قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ ذَكَّرْتُهُ بِاللَّهِ فَلَمْ يَنْتَهِ قَالَ تَسْتَعِينُ عَلَيْهِ بِالسُّلْطَانِ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ السُّلْطَانُ مِنِّي نَائِيًا قَالَ تَسْتَعِينُ عَلَيْهِ بِالْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَمْ يَحْضُرْنِي أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَجِلَ عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَقَاتِلْ حَتَّى تَحُوزَ مَالَكَ أَوْ تُقْتَلَ فَتَكُونَ فِي شُهَدَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Makharik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "A man comes to me and wants to take my wealth." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make him swear by Allah." He said: "If I make him swear by Allah but he does not desist?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek help against him from the ruler." He said: "If the ruler is far away (and access to him is not possible)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek help against him from other Muslims." He said: "If there are no Muslims there either?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then fight him, until you protect your wealth or become among the martyrs of the Hereafter."
Hadith 6218
عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is killed while protecting his wealth is a martyr.
Hadith 6219
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَظْلَمَةٍ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is killed while opposing oppression is a martyr.
