Hadith 6147
عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْإِمَاءِ إِلَّا مَا عَمِلَتْ بِيَدِهَا وَقَالَ هَكَذَا بِأَصَابِعِهِ نَحْوَ الْخُبْزِ وَالْغَزْلِ وَالنَّفْشِ
It is narrated from Rafi' bin Rifa'ah that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade us from the earnings of slave-girls, except that which they earn with their own hands in such a manner. Then the narrator indicated with his fingers towards making bread, spinning thread, and carding cotton.
Hadith 6148
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَجْتَنِي الْكَبَاثَ فَقَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْأَسْوَدِ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ أَطْيَبُ قَالَ قُلْنَا وَكُنْتَ تَرْعَى الْغَنَمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَهَلْ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا قَدْ رَعَاهَا
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both): We were picking arak fruits with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Pick the black ones, for they are the best." We said: "O Messenger of Allah! Did you tend sheep?" He said: "Yes, in fact every prophet has tended sheep."
Hadith 6149
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بُعِثَ مُوسَى وَهُوَ يَرْعَى غَنَمًا عَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَبُعِثْتُ وَأَنَا أَرْعَى غَنَمًا لِأَهْلِي بِجِيَادٍ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty sent Musa (peace be upon him) as a prophet while he used to graze the goats of his family, and when I was sent as a prophet, I too used to graze the goats of my family in Ji'ad.
Hadith 6150
عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَمَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ ثِيَابًا مِنْ هَجَرَ قَالَ فَأَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَاوَمَنَا فِي سَرَاوِيلَ وَعِنْدَنَا وَزَّانُونَ يَزِنُونَ بِالْأُجْرَةِ فَقَالَ لِلْوَزَّانِ زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ
Sayyiduna Suwaid bin Qais says: I and Makhramah ‘Abdi brought cloth from the region of Hajar. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us and bargained with us for trousers, while there were also people present with us who weighed goods for a wage. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to one of the weighers: Weigh it, and tilt this side of the scale.
