Hadith 6092
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you disagree about the road, then leave seven hand-spans and build the buildings, and whoever asks his neighbor to allow him to place a beam on his wall, he should let him place it.
Hadith 6093
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (It is not permissible) to cause harm to your brother by diminishing his rights, nor is it permissible to cause greater harm than the harm received. And a person has the right to place a beam or the like on his neighbor’s wall, and the passageway for coming and going should be left at seven hands wide.
Hadith 6094
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When people disagree about the road, then seven hand-spans should be left in the middle.
Hadith 6095
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was an open space lying on the way. When its owners intended to build there, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) decided that a path of seven handspans should be left. This path was called a thoroughfare.
