Hadith 6037
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man passed away and left behind a mudabbar slave in his inheritance, while he was also in debt. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the people to sell this slave for the payment of his debt, so they sold him for eight hundred dirhams.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abu Hadra al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I owed four dirhams to a Jew. He went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to complain about me and said: O Muhammad! (peace and blessings be upon him) This man owes me four dirhams, but now he has overpowered me. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him): Pay him his due. He said: By the One Who has sent you with the truth! I do not have the means. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said to him: Pay his due. He again said: By the One in Whose hand is my soul! I do not have the means. I have told this Jew that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is sending us towards Khaybar, so we hope to obtain spoils of war and I will return and pay the debt, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again ordered him and said: Pay his due. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say something three times, he would not repeat it further. Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the market, he had a turban on his head and was wearing a sheet as a lower garment. He took off the turban from his head and tied it as a lower garment, and took off the sheet and came to the Jew and said: Buy this sheet from me. So he bought the sheet for four dirhams. Meanwhile, an old woman passed by and asked: O companion of the Messenger! What has happened to you? He told her the whole story. The old woman had a sheet, and after hearing his story, she threw it towards him and said: Take this sheet.
Hadith 6039
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Ka'b that his father, Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), demanded repayment of a debt from Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him). This incident took place during the Prophetic era. In this matter, their voices became so loud, while they were in the mosque, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard them while he was in his house. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them, lifted the curtain of his chamber, and called out: "O Ka'b bin Malik!" He replied: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! I am present." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured to him to forgive half of the debt. He said: "Yes, I have done so, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said to Ibn Abi Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him): "Get up and pay the remaining debt."
Hadith 6040
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a man bought some fruit, but a calamity befell that fruit, due to which the man became heavily indebted. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give charity to him." So the people gave charity, but its amount was less than his debt. Eventually, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the creditors: "Take whatever is being given to you, and besides this, there is nothing more."
