Hadith 6030
Narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that one day we were present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at a funeral. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is there any man from such-and-such tribe present here?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this three times. Finally, a man stood up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "What prevented you from responding the first two times? I only intended good for you. The matter is that your such-and-such man has been prevented from entering Paradise because of his debt." He says: "I saw the family members of the deceased and those who were grieving for him pay off his debt in such a way that not a single claimant remained."
Hadith 6031
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever the hand takes, it remains a liability upon him until it is repaid.
Hadith 6032
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The soul of the believer remains suspended until his debt is paid off.
Hadith 6033
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Atwal (may Allah be pleased with him) says: My brother passed away and left behind three hundred dinars as inheritance, and he also left behind small children. I intended to spend these dinars on them, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Your brother is being held back because of debt, so go and pay off his debt. So I went and paid off all his debt, then came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have paid off all my brother’s debt, except for one woman who claims two dinars, but she has no proof. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give it to her as well, because she is truthful.
