Hadith 5856
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُبَاعُ الثَّمَرُ حَتَّى يُطْعَمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not sell fruits until they become fit to eat.
Hadith 5857
عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ الطَّائِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ أَوْ يُؤْكَلَ مِنْهُ وَحَتَّى يُوزَنَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ مَا يُوزَنُ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يُحْزَرَ
It is narrated from Abu Bakhtari Tai that he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about selling the fruit of dates. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling the fruit of dates until it becomes fit for eating and weighing. Another man asked: What is meant by weighing? He said: Estimation.
Hadith 5858
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَزْهُوَ وَعَنِ السُّنْبُلِ حَتَّى يَبْيَضَّ وَيَأْمَنَ الْعَاهَةَ نَهَى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُشْتَرِيَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of dates until they become ripe in color, and also forbade the sale of ears of grain until the grain becomes firm and safe from calamity. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade both the seller and the buyer.
Hadith 5859
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُبَاعَ الثَّمَرَةُ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا قَالَ وَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا صَلَاحُهَا قَالَ إِذَا ذَهَبَتْ عَاهَتُهَا وَخَلَصَ طَيِّبُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling fruit before its goodness becomes apparent. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is the manifestation of its goodness? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When its time of affliction has passed and the good fruit becomes evident.
Hadith 5860
عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ الْعَاهَةُ فَقُلْتُ وَمَتَى ذَاكَ قَالَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الثُّرَيَّا
Uthman bin Abdullah bin Suraqah says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the sale of fruits. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits until the fear of calamity had passed. I asked: And when does that happen? He said: When the Thurayya star appears.
Hadith 5861
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُدْرِكَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling fruit before it has ripened.
Hadith 5862
عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرَةِ حَتَّى تَزْهُوَ قِيلَ لِأَنَسٍ مَا تَزْهُوَ قَالَ تَحْمَرُّ
It is narrated from Humaid that Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the sale of fruits. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling fruits before they ripen. Someone asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): What is meant by ripening? He said: Their turning red.
Hadith 5863
عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرَةِ حَتَّى تُشْقِحَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِسَعِيدٍ مَا تُشْقِحَ قَالَ تَحْمَارُّ وَتَصْفَارُّ وَيُؤْكَلُ مِنْهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah forbade selling fruits before redness and yellowness appears in them. Saleem bin Hayyan says: I asked Saeed, "What is meant by 'tushqiḥ'?" He said: When the fruits become red and yellow and become suitable to be eaten.
Hadith 5864
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَبِيعُوا ثِمَارَكُمْ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا وَتَنْجُوَ مِنَ الْعَاهَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not sell fruits before their ripeness becomes apparent and they are safe from harm.
Hadith 5865
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تُبَاعُ ثَمَرَةٌ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do not sell the fruit before its goodness becomes apparent.
Hadith 5866
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَزْهُوَ وَالْحَبِّ حَتَّى يُفْرَكَ وَعَنِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى تُطْعَمَ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, forbade the sale of dates before they ripen, the trade of grains before they are near to maturity, and the transaction of fruits before they become fit for eating.
Hadith 5867
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرَةِ حَتَّى تَزْهُوَ وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْعِنَبِ حَتَّى يَسْوَدَّ وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَبِّ حَتَّى يَشْتَدَّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade selling fruit before it ripens, grapes before they turn black, and grain before it hardens.
