Hadith 5834
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade the sale of Mulamasa, and Mulamasa is that a cloth is only touched and not examined (by looking at it). And he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) also forbade the sale of Munabadhah, and Munabadhah is that a person, after making a deal, throws the cloth towards the other before he has turned it over or examined it.
Hadith 5835
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade two types of garments and two types of transactions. (The mention of garments is in another place.) The two transactions are: one is Munabadhah and the other is Mulamasah. Munabadhah is when a person says: When I throw this cloth towards you, the deal will be finalized. And Mulamasah is when a person touches the cloth, without trying it on or turning it over; as soon as he touches it, the deal is finalized.
Hadith 5836
A similar hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, in which it is mentioned: As for the matter of two trades, one is Mulamasah, and that is when they say to each other: You throw towards me and I throw towards you, and the second trade is throwing a stone.
