بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ بُيُوعِ الْغَرِدِ
Chapter: Prohibition of ambiguous sales
Hadith 5820
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلَاءِ وَهِبَتِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling and gifting of wala’.
Hadith 5821
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تَبِيعُوا فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ وَلَا تَمْنَعُوا الْكَلَأَ فَيَهْزُلَ الْمَالُ وَيَجُوعَ الْعِيَالُ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not sell excess water, nor prohibit grass, otherwise the livestock will become weak and the family members will suffer from hunger.
Hadith 5822
عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَبِيعُوا فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ وَالنَّاسُ يَبِيعُونَ مَاءَ الْفُرَاتِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyas bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Do not sell water in excess of your need, because the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the selling of water. People have even started selling the water of the river Euphrates.
Hadith 5823
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فِيمَا أَحْسِبُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: I think that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade the selling of water.
Hadith 5824
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ عَسْبِ الْفَحْلِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking wages for the mating of a bull.
Hadith 5825
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يَبِيعَ الرَّجُلُ فِحْلَةَ فَرَسِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade taking the price for the mating of a stallion.
