Hadith 5466
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was sitting in a gathering with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when a man came and greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the other people, saying: "As-Salamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah" (Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Wa ‘Alaikumus-Salam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh" (And peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you). When the man sat down, he said: "Alhamdulillahi Hamdan Kathiran Tayyiban Mubaarakan Fihi Kama Yuhibbu Rabbuna An Yuhmada wa Yanbaghi Lahu" (All praise is for Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise, as our Lord loves and as is befitting for Him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How did you say?" He repeated those words to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, ten angels rushed towards these words, each eager to write them down, but they could not understand how to write them. Then they took these words as they were to the Glorious Lord, and Allah Almighty said: 'Write them as My servant has said them.'"
Hadith 5467
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I was praying when I heard a man reciting these words: O Allah! All praise is for You, all sovereignty is for You, all goodness is in Your hand, all matters return to You, whether openly or secretly. You are worthy of being praised. Indeed, You have power over all things. O Allah! Forgive me all my past sins, protect me in the remaining part of my life, and grant me such pure deeds by which You will be pleased with me. (O Allah! All praise is for You, all sovereignty is for You, all goodness and virtue is for You, all matters will return to You, whether open or hidden. You are worthy of being praised. Indeed, You have power over all things. O Allah! Forgive my past sins, protect me in the remaining part of my life, and grant me such righteous deeds with which You will be pleased with me.)
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That was an angel who came to you and taught you how to praise your Lord.
Hadith 5468
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites this supplication: All praise is due to Allah, equal to the number of His creation; all praise is due to Allah, as much as would fill His creation; all praise is due to Allah, equal to the number of the creatures in the heavens and the earth; all praise is due to Allah, as much as would fill whatever is in the heavens and the earth; all praise is due to Allah, equal to the number of things His Book has counted; all praise is due to Allah, as much as would fill the things His Book has counted; all praise is due to Allah, equal to the number of everything; and all praise is due to Allah, as much as would fill everything. Then, in the same way, if he says: "Subhan Allah" (Glory be to Allah), he will receive a great reward.
Hadith 5469
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would meet a man and ask him: O so-and-so! How are you? He would reply: I am well and I praise Allah Almighty. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would respond to him: May Allah keep you in well-being. Then one day the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met him and asked: How are you? He replied: If I am grateful, then I am well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent in response. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Whenever you used to ask me before, you would pray for me that may Allah keep you in well-being, but today you remained silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Previously, when I would ask you, you would say that you are well and you praise Allah Almighty, and I would respond that may Allah keep you in well-being. But today you said, if I am grateful, then I am well, so you expressed doubt, therefore I remained silent.
