Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah! I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were in the mosque with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, we also stood up. Meanwhile, a Bedouin came and said: O Muhammad! Give me something. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, and I seek forgiveness from Allah. He pulled the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which caused a scratch to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The companions wanted to do something to him, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Leave him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him something. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also swear in these words: Lā wa astaghfirullāh (No, and I seek forgiveness from Allah).

In the hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) stood among us and said: By Him besides whom there is no deity!

It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him. This is a lengthy hadith, in which the incident of the last person to come out of Hell is mentioned. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: One man will remain; when he turns his face towards the Fire, he will say: O my Lord! The foul air of the Fire has harmed me and its blaze has burnt me, so turn my face away from it. Then he will continue to supplicate to Allah Almighty until Allah says: Perhaps if I grant you this, you will begin to ask Me for something else? He will say: No, by Your honor! I will not ask You for anything else besides this... .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) as the leader of some people, but when people criticized his leadership, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you criticize his leadership, then you must have also criticized his father's leadership. By Allah, he is indeed worthy of leadership.
