Hadith 5280
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ كُوتِبَ عَلَى مِائَةِ أُوقِيَّةٍ فَأَدَّاهَا إِلَّا عَشْرَ أُوقِيَّاتٍ فَهُوَ رَقِيقٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a slave has been contracted for manumission for one hundred uqiyahs and he has paid all except ten uqiyahs, he is still a slave.
Hadith 5281
عَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ كَاتَبَ عَلَى مِائَةِ أُوقِيَّةٍ فَأَدَّاهَا إِلَّا عَشْرَةَ أَوَاقٍ فَهُوَ عَبْدٌ وَأَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ كَاتَبَ عَلَى مِائَةِ دِينَارٍ فَأَدَّاهَا إِلَّا عَشَرَةَ دَنَانِيرَ فَهُوَ عَبْدٌ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The slave who has made a contract of manumission for one hundred uqiyahs and has paid the entire price except for ten uqiyahs, he will remain a slave; and the slave who has made a contract of manumission for one hundred dinars and has paid all the dinars except for ten dinars, he will remain a slave.
Hadith 5282
عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ذَكَرَتْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ لِإِحْدَاكُنَّ مُكَاتَبٌ فَكَانَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يُؤَدِّي فَلْتَحْتَجِبْ مِنْهُ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When any woman among you has a mukatab (contracted for freedom) slave, and he possesses enough wealth to pay his price, then that woman should observe veil from that slave.
Hadith 5283
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُكَاتَبُ يُوَدَّى مَا أَعْتَقَ مِنْهُ بِحِسَابِ الْحُرِّ وَمَا رَقَّ مِنْهُ بِحِسَابِ الْعَبْدِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A mukatab (contracted slave) will be given the blood money of a free man in proportion to the part he has been freed, and in proportion to the part he remains a slave, he will be given the blood money of a slave.
Hadith 5284
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُوَدَّى الْمُكَاتَبُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: A mukatab (contracted slave) will be given blood money in proportion to the amount he has paid.
