It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the Prophets, there was a Prophet who fought in jihad, and he said to his people: No man should come with me who has become the owner of a woman's private part and intends to have privacy with her, while he has not yet had privacy; nor should a man come with me who has built a building but has not yet put a roof on it; nor should a person come who has bought goats or pregnant animals and is waiting for them to give birth. So that Prophet set out for jihad and reached near a town; it was the time of Asr prayer or close to it. He said to the sun: You are also bound by Allah's command, and I am also bound by His command. O Allah! Hold back this sun for a while. So it was held back for him until Allah granted them victory, and they collected the spoils of war. A fire came to consume it, but it refused to eat it. Seeing this, that Prophet said: There is treachery among you people. So, let one man from each tribe pledge allegiance to me. They pledged allegiance, and the hand of one man stuck to his hand. The Prophet said: There is treachery among you people, so let your whole tribe pledge allegiance to me. The entire tribe pledged allegiance, and the hands of two or three men stuck. He said: There is treachery among you individuals; you have committed treachery. So they brought out gold, which was like the head of a cow, and placed it among the spoils, which were lying on the ground. Then the fire came and consumed it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These spoils were not lawful for anyone before us. So, seeing our weakness and humility, Allah made them lawful for us.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us and mentioned betrayal, presenting its matter as great and severe, and then said: I will never find any of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with a camel roaring on his neck, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me, and I will reply: I have no authority over anything for you, I had conveyed the message to you. I will never find any of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with a bleating goat on his neck, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me, and I will say: I have no authority for you, I had conveyed the message to you. I will never find any of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with a neighing horse on his neck, and that man says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me, and I will say: I have no authority over anything for you, I had conveyed the message of Allah to you. I will never find any of you on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that there is a screaming soul on his neck, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me, and I will say: I have no authority for you, I had conveyed the message to you. I will not see anyone on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he comes that day with pieces of cloth moving on his neck, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me, and I will say: I have no authority over anything for you, I had conveyed the message to you. And I will not find anyone in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with gold and silver on his shoulders, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Khaybar, a group of the noble Companions came and said: “So-and-so is a martyr, so-and-so is a martyr.” In the meantime, they passed by another slain person and said the same about him, that he is a martyr. But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Never! I saw him in the Fire because of the striped cloak or garment which he had taken dishonestly.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Ibn Khattab! Go and announce among the people that only the believers will enter Paradise.” So I went out from there and made this announcement: “Beware! Only the believers will enter Paradise.”

It is narrated from Salim bin Abdullah that he was with Muslamah bin Abdul Malik in the region of Rome. Some dishonest goods were found among a man's belongings. Muslamah asked Salim bin Abdullah about this. He said: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you find dishonest goods among someone's belongings, burn his belongings." The narrator says: I think the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "And beat him as well." So when they brought his belongings out to the market, they saw that there was also a Mushaf (copy of the Qur'an) among them, so they again asked Salim, to which he replied: "Sell it and give its price in charity."

When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished distributing the spoils of war, then a man came with a rope that is tied from the nostril to the rein, and he said: O Messenger of Allah! This is also from the spoils of war, I had taken it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Did you not hear that Bilal announced about it three times? He said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then what prevented you from bringing it? He presented an excuse, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now I will never accept it, and you yourself will have to pay it in full on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that a Muslim man died on the day of Khaybar. When mention of him was made before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: "You yourselves perform the funeral prayer of your companion." Upon hearing this, the faces of the people turned pale. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw their condition, he said: "Your companion has committed treachery in the way of Allah." Strive in jihad for the sake of Allah, whether near or far, and do not care about the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah. Uphold the limits of Allah in both residence and travel, and strive in the path of Allah. Hadith 5084
It is narrated from Simak bin Harb, who says: A man from Banu Laith narrated to me: The horsemen of the Companions captured me, I was with them, they saw some goats, plundered them, and began to cook them, but (when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, arrived) he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Plundering is not permissible, therefore, overturn the pots.
