بَابُ تَقْسِيمِ أَرْبَعَةِ أَحْمَاسِ الْغَيْمَةِ وَمَا يُعْطَى الفارس والرجل، وَمَن يُرْضَحُ لَهُ مِنْهَا كَالْمَرْأَةُ وَالْمَمْلُوكِ
Chapter on the Division of Four-Fifths of the Booty, What Is Given to the Horseman and the Foot Soldier, and Who Else May Receive a Share Such as Women and Slaves

Hadith 5037
عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ أَرْبَعَةُ نَفَرٍ وَمَعَنَا فَرَسٌ فَأَعْطَى كُلَّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنَّا سَهْمًا وَأَعْطَى الْفَرَسَ سَهْمَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umarah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Four of us came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we had a horse with us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave each of us one share and gave the horse two shares.
Hadith 5038
عَنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَى الزُّبَيْرَ سَهْمًا وَأُمَّهُ سَهْمًا وَفَرَسَهُ سَهْمَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave Zubair one share, his mother one share, and his horse two shares.
Hadith 5039
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ لِلْفَرَسِ سَهْمَيْنِ وَلِلرَّجُلِ سَهْمًا وَقَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ أَسْهَمَ لِلرَّجُلِ وَلِفَرَسِهِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَسْهُمٍ سَهْمًا لَهُ وَسَهْمَيْنِ لِفَرَسِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) allotted two shares for a horse and one share for a foot soldier. The words of the narrator Abu Muawiyah are: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) allotted a total of three shares for a man and his horse—one for the man and two for his horse.
Hadith 5040
عَنْ مَجْمَعِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ فَقُسِمَتْ خَيْبَرُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ لَمْ يُدْخِلْ مَعَهُمْ فِيهَا أَحَدًا إِلَّا مَنْ شَهِدَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ فَقَسَمَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ سَهْمًا وَكَانَ الْجَيْشُ أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَ مِائَةٍ فِيهِمْ ثَلَاثُ مِائَةِ فَارِسٍ فَأَعْطَى الْفَارِسَ سَهْمَيْنِ وَأَعْطَى الرَّاجِلَ سَهْمًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Majma’ bin Jariyah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that Khaybar was distributed among the people of Hudaybiyyah; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not include anyone else with them, only those who had participated at Hudaybiyyah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made eighteen shares of it. The army numbered fifteen hundred (1500), among whom there were three hundred horsemen. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave two shares to each horseman and one share to each foot soldier.
Hadith 5041
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِي الْمَرْأَةَ وَالْمَمْلُوكَ مِنَ الْغَنَائِمِ مَا يُصِيبُ الْجَيْشَ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ دُونَ مَا يُصِيبُ الْجَيْشَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to give women and slaves a share from the spoils of war equal to that of the army members, but in one narration it is stated: women and slaves were given a share less than that of the army members.
Hadith 5042
عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ قَالَ وَفِينَا مَمْلُوكَانِ فَلَا يُقْسَمُ لَهُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a battle, among us were also slaves, they were not given anything from the spoils of war.
Hadith 5043
وَعَنْ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي غِفَارٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ لَمَّا فَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ رَضَّخَ لَنَا مِنَ الْفَيْءِ الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from a woman of Banu Ghifar, she says: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, conquered Khaybar, we were also given a small portion from the spoils of war.
Hadith 5044
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا وَقَدْ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ نَجْدَةُ الْحَرُورِيُّ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ خَمْسِ خِصَالٍ مِنْهَا هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْزُو بِالنِّسَاءِ مَعَهُ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ كَانَ يَغْزُو بِالنِّسَاءِ مَعَهُ فَيُدَاوِينَ الْمَرْضَى وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَضْرِبُ لَهُنَّ بِسَهْمٍ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ يُحْذِيهِنَّ مِنَ الْغَنِيمَةِ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), when Najdah Haruri wrote a letter to him and asked about five matters, one of the questions was: Did women participate in jihad with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote in reply: Indeed, women used to go out in jihad with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and they would treat the sick, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not allocate a share for them like the other fighters, but he would give them a little from the spoils of war as a gift.
Hadith 5045
عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ خَيْبَرَ مَعَ سَادَتِي فَكَلَّمُوا فِيَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ بِي فَقَلَّدْتُ سَيْفًا فَإِذَا أَنَا أَجُرُّهُ فَأُخْبِرَ أَنِّي مَمْلُوكٌ فَأَمَرَ لِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ
Mawla Abi al-Lahm Sayyiduna Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He says, I was present with my masters in the Battle of Khaybar. When they spoke to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about me, he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a ruling regarding me. I hung a sword with myself in such a way that it was dragging. When it was informed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that I was a slave, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that a small amount of household goods from the spoils of war be given to me.
