Hadith 5010
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever meets Allah in such a state that he did not associate anything with Him, gave zakat with happiness of heart and with the intention of reward, listened to the Imam and obeyed him, then for him is Paradise, or he will enter Paradise. There are five sins for which there is no expiation: associating partners with Allah, unjustly killing a soul, slandering a believer, fleeing on the day of battle, and a false oath through which one acquires unlawful wealth.
Hadith 5011
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever comes (on the Day of Judgment) in such a state that he has worshipped Allah, did not associate anyone with Him, established prayer, paid zakat, fasted in Ramadan, and avoided major sins, then Paradise will be for him. When the people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the major sins, he said: Associating partners with Allah, killing a Muslim soul, and fleeing on the day of battle.
Hadith 5012
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: This is about one of the expeditions sent by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I myself was in it. People started to flee, and I was among those who ran away. Then we said: What should we do now? We have fled from battle and returned with the wrath of Allah. Then we said: Now let us enter Madinah and spend the night inside. But then it occurred to us that we should present ourselves before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). If repentance is accepted, then fine; otherwise, we will leave. So, before the Fajr prayer, we reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he came out, he asked: Who are these people? We said: It is us, those who have fled from battle and come back. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, no, rather you are those who have returned towards fighting, and I am your helper, and I am the refuge and helper of all Muslims. So we drew near to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and kissed his hand.
