Hadith 4944
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to undertake a military expedition, he would conceal his intention by expressing something else, until the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fought this battle in intense heat, had to travel a long distance, pass through places of destruction, and face a large number of enemies. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the matter clear to the Muslims, so that they could prepare accordingly for the enemy. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clearly informed them of the direction in which he intended to go.
Hadith 4945
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: When the situation became intense during the Battle of the Trench, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is there anyone who can inform us about the condition of Banu Qurayza? Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) went and informed about their condition. Then, when the situation became even more severe, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said the same thing three times, (and each time Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) responded). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is Zubair.
Hadith 4946
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent Sayyiduna Busaysah as a spy to see what had become of Abu Sufyan’s caravan. When he returned, there was no one in the house except me and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Thabit, the narrator, says: I do not know whether the narrator made an exception regarding some of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) or not. In any case, Sayyiduna Busaysah informed (the Prophet) of the situation. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) came out and said: We have to search for something; whoever has a mount should come with us. Some people asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) for permission, saying their mounts were in the upper part of Madinah (and since they wanted to go with the Prophet, they requested to be waited for). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: No, only those who have mounts present should come. Thus, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and his companions set out and reached Badr before the polytheists.
