Hadith 4928
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered fighting. One of his companions was struck by an arrow, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about him: He has made Paradise obligatory for himself. Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to fight, they said: O Messenger of Allah! We will not say what the Children of Israel said; they said: O Musa! You and your Lord go, both of you go and fight; indeed, we are sitting right here. O Messenger of Allah! You and your Lord go, indeed, we are the warriors who will go with you.

Mawla-e-Rasool Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said during one of his journeys: "Indeed, tonight we will travel all night, so no one with a rebellious or weak camel should travel this night." However, a man set out on this journey with his rebellious camel, but he fell, his thigh broke, and he died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) first ordered his funeral prayer to be performed, but then ordered a caller to announce among the people: "Indeed, Paradise is not lawful for the disobedient, indeed, Paradise is not lawful for the disobedient." He said this three times.

Hadith 4930
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would camp at a place and the night would become extremely dark, the noble Companions would scatter in the valleys and ravines. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among them and said: “Your scattering in these valleys in this manner is from Satan.” After this command, whenever the Companions would descend at a place, they would gather so closely together that it could be said: if I were to spread a sheet over them, it would cover them all.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent out an army and appointed an Ansari man as their commander. When the army set out, for some reason their commander became angry with them. So he said to them: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) not command you to obey me? They said: Yes, indeed. He said: Then gather firewood. Then he had a fire lit and said to them: I strongly urge you to enter this fire. Some people intended to enter it, but among them a young man said: (Be sensible) You went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to escape from the fire, so do not be hasty in this matter until you meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (and ask him about this). If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commands you to enter this fire, then enter it. So when they returned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of the incident, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you had entered it, you would never have come out of it. Obedience to the commander is only in matters of goodness. In another narration: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to those who intended to enter the fire: If you had entered it, you would have remained in it until the Day of Resurrection. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke well of the others and said: There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah; obedience is only in good matters. In another narration: There is no obedience to any human being in disobedience to Allah Almighty.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Alqamah bin Mujazziz (may Allah be pleased with him) as the commander of a jihad expedition, and I was also in that expedition. When we reached the place of our campaign, or were on the way, this commander separated a group and appointed Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hudhafah Sahmi (may Allah be pleased with him) as their leader. He was a Badri companion and had a humorous nature. I was also among those who returned with him. When we camped on the way and people lit a fire either to cook food or to get warmth from it, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hudhafah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Is it not obligatory upon you people to listen to me and obey me?" They said: "Yes, of course." He said: "Then I adjure you by my right and the right of my obedience that you jump into this fire." The people stood up and tied cloth around their waists. When this commander saw that they were actually about to jump into the fire, he said: "Stop! I was joking with you." When these people returned and related this incident to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any of these commanders orders you to disobey Allah, then do not obey him."

Bashar bin Asim Laithi narrates: It is reported from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who was from the tribe of Bashar, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent out an army. I gave a man a sword. When he returned, he said: I have never seen the kind of reproach from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as I saw this time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I send a man and he does not carry out my command, are you incapable of appointing in his place a man who will carry out my command?
