It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man migrated from Yemen to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: You have left shirk, but now jihad remains. Tell me, are your parents alive in Yemen? He said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Did they give you permission? He said: No. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then return to your parents and seek their permission. If they give you permission, then fine, otherwise continue to do good to them.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) under that tree, when a man came to him from that valley, greeted him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have intended to strive (jihad) with you; through this action, I seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty and the home of the Hereafter. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Are any of your parents alive? He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! Both are alive. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then return and do good to them. In another narration: Strive in serving them. So he returned in the direction from which he had come.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then stay with her, for indeed Paradise is at her feet. Then he repeated the same thing in different gatherings a second and then a third time.
Hadith 4921
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khubaib bin Yasaf (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I and a man from my tribe came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was about to go for a battle. We had not yet become Muslims. So we said: Indeed, we feel ashamed that our tribe participates in a battle and we are not included with them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Have you become Muslims? They said: No. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, in opposition to the polytheists, we do not seek help from the polytheists. Upon hearing this statement, we became Muslims and participated in that battle with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I killed a man and he had also struck me a blow. Then I married his daughter. She used to say: Do not lose the man who struck you between the shoulder and the side, and I used to say to her: Do not lose the man who quickly sent your father into the fire.
Hadith 4922
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out towards Badr. A polytheist man also followed behind him and caught up with him at Jamrah. He said: I also wish to fight alongside you and obtain war booty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: No. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then go back, for indeed we do not seek help from any polytheist. But then he met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again at the tree. The noble companions were very pleased with him, because he was a strong and tough man. He said: I have come to fight alongside you and obtain war booty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: No. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then go back, for indeed I never seek help from a polytheist. Then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended to the place of Bayda, that same man met him again and said the same thing. But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: Yes. So this time the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took him along and proceeded.

It is narrated from the Companion of the Messenger, Sayyiduna Dhi Mikhmar (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon you will make a peace treaty with the Romans, then you and they together will fight a common enemy, and you will be helped and remain safe, and you will also obtain spoils of war.
