فَضْلُ إِعَانَةِ الْمُجَاهِدِ وَتَجْهِيزِهِ وَخَلْفِهِ فِي أهْلِهِ وَالنَّفَقَةِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلْ
The Virtue of Assisting the Mujahid, Equipping Him, Looking After His Family, and Spending in the Path of Allah the Exalted
Hadith 4853
عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا أَوْ خَلَفَهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا يُنْقَصُ مِنْ أَجْرِ الْغَازِي شَيْءٌ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever equips a warrior (ghazi) or takes his place among his family, he will receive a reward equal to that of the warrior, while the warrior’s reward will not be diminished in the least.
Hadith 4854
عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا فَقَدْ غَزَا وَمَنْ خَلَفَ غَازِيًا فِي أَهْلِهِ بِخَيْرٍ فَقَدْ غَزَا
Narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever equips a warrior, he has performed jihad, and whoever looks after the family of a warrior with goodness and kindness in his absence, he has also certainly performed jihad.
Hadith 4855
عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا أَوْ خَلَفَهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ بِخَيْرٍ فَإِنَّهُ مَعَنَا
Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever equips a warrior (in the path of Allah), or looks after his family with goodness and kindness in his absence, then indeed he is with us.
Hadith 4856
عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يُنْفِقُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَالٍ لَهُ زَوْجَيْنِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا اسْتَقْبَلَتْهُ حَجَبَةُ الْجَنَّةِ كُلُّهُمْ يَدْعُوهُ إِلَى مَا عِنْدَهُ قُلْتُ وَكَيْفَ ذَاكَ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَتْ رِحَالًا فَرَحْلَانِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ إِبِلًا فَبَعِيرَيْنِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ بَقَرًا فَبَقَرَتَيْنِ
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever among the Muslims spends a pair from his wealth in the way of Allah, the gatekeepers of Paradise will welcome him, and each one of them will call him towards what he has with him. I asked: How will this "pair, pair" be? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If they are riding animals, then two riding animals; if they are camels, then two camels; and if they are cows, then two cows.
Hadith 4857
عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَظَلَّ رَأْسَ غَازٍ أَظَلَّهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا حَتَّى يَسْتَقِلَّ بِجَهَازِهِ كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ وَمَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ فِيهِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever provides shade over a Mujahid, Allah Almighty will provide shade over him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever equips a Mujahid until he becomes self-sufficient and independent, he will have a reward equal to his reward. And whoever builds a mosque in which the name of Allah Almighty is mentioned, Allah Almighty will build a house for him in Paradise.
Hadith 4858
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ فَتًى مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ وَلَيْسَ لِي مَالٌ أَتَجَهَّزُ بِهِ فَقَالَ اذْهَبْ إِلَى فُلَانٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ تَجَهَّزَ وَمَرِضَ فَقُلْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقْرِئُكَ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ لَكَ ادْفَعْ إِلَيَّ مَا تَجَهَّزْتَ بِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ يَا فُلَانَةُ ادْفَعِي إِلَيْهِ مَا جَهَّزْتِنِي بِهِ وَلَا تَحْبِسِي عَنْهُ شَيْئًا فَإِنَّكِ وَاللَّهِ إِنْ حَبَسْتِ عَنْهُ شَيْئًا لَا يُبَارِكُ اللَّهُ لَكِ فِيهِ قَالَ عَفَّانُ إِنَّ فَتًى مِنْ أَسْلَمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that an Ansari youth said: O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, I wish to perform jihad, but I do not have the wealth to prepare myself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go to such-and-such Ansari, he had made preparations for jihad, but he has fallen ill. Say to him that the Messenger of Allah sends you greetings of peace and requests from you that whatever preparations you have made, give them to me. He went and conveyed this message. In response, he said to his wife: O such-and-such lady! Whatever you had prepared for me, give all of it to this man, and do not withhold anything. By Allah! If you withhold anything, Allah Almighty will not put blessing in it for you. ‘Affan, the narrator, said: This youth was from the tribe of Banu Aslam.
Hadith 4859
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ إِلَى بَنِي لَحْيَانَ لِيَخْرُجَ مِنْ كُلِّ رَجُلَيْنِ رَجُلٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْقَاعِدِ أَيُّكُمْ خَلَفَ الْخَارِجَ فِي أَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ بِخَيْرٍ كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ نِصْفِ أَجْرِ الْخَارِجِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent this message to Banu Lahyan: "From every two men, one should go forth." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to those who remained behind: "Whoever among you becomes a good and benevolent guardian of the family and wealth of the one who goes forth as a Mujahid, for him there will be a reward equal to half the reward of the one who goes forth."
Hadith 4860
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كَانَ أُحُدٌ عِنْدِي ذَهَبًا لَسَرَّنِي أَنْ أُنْفِقَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأَنْ لَا يَأْتِيَ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ دِينَارٌ وَلَا دِرْهَمٌ إِلَّا شَيْءٌ أُرْصِدُهُ فِي دَيْنٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, it would please me that I spend it in the way of Allah Almighty, and that a third day does not come upon me while I still have any dinar or dirham left from it, except for that which I keep aside for the repayment of a debt.
Hadith 4861
عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَصَدَّقَ بِنَاقَةٍ مَخْطُوطَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَتَأْتِيَنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِسَبْعِمِائَةِ نَاقَةٍ مَخْطُوطَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man spent a bridled she-camel in the way of Allah Almighty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said about it: You will come on the Day of Resurrection with seven hundred bridled she-camels.
Hadith 4862
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الْمُنْفِقَ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَبَاسِطِ يَدَيْهِ بِالصَّدَقَةِ لَا يَقْبِضُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Hazliyyah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: Indeed, the one who spends on a group present in the path of Allah is like someone who has both hands spread out with charity and does not close them.
Hadith 4863
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ أَرَادَ الْغَزْوَ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكُمْ قَوْمًا لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مَالٌ وَلَا عَشِيرَةٌ فَلْيَضُمَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أَوِ الثَّلَاثَةَ فَمَا لِأَحَدِنَا مِنْ ظَهْرِ جَمَلِهِ إِلَّا عُقْبَةٌ كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ قَالَ فَضَمَمْتُ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً إِلَيَّ وَمَا لِي إِلَّا عُقْبَةٌ كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) intended to go on a military expedition and said: O group of Muhajirun and Ansar! Indeed, some of your brothers are such that they have neither any wealth nor any relatives, so every man should take two or three persons with him. Thus, each of us would have a turn to ride on his camel because of those two or three persons. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I also took two or three persons with me, and I too had one turn to ride, just like them.
Hadith 4864
عَنْ رُوَيْفِعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ غَزَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَكَانَ أَحَدُنَا يَأْخُذُ النَّاقَةَ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِمَّا يُغْنَمُ حَتَّى إِنَّ لِأَحَدِنَا الْقَدَحَ وَلِلْآخَرِ النَّصْلَ وَالرِّيشَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ruwaifi’ bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he participated in a battle with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: One of us would take a she-camel for half of the spoils obtained, to the extent that (sometimes it would happen that) one of us would get the shaft of an arrow and another would get the feather and the head.
