Hadith 4793
عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي بِهَا دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُسَيْطِرٍ} [الغاشية: 21-22]
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight against the people until they say LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAH (there is no god but Allah). So when they say this word, they will protect their lives and their wealth from me, except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah the Exalted. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited these verses: {فَذَکِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَکِّرٌ لَسْتَ عَلَیْھِمْ بِمُسَیْطِرٍ} … So remind, you are only a reminder. You are not a controller over them.
Hadith 4794
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاهِدُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنْفُسِكُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Strive against the polytheists with your wealth, your lives, and your tongues.
Hadith 4795
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ وَلَكِنْ جِهَادٌ وَنِيَّةٌ وَإِذَا اسْتُنْفِرْتُمْ فَانْفِرُوا
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no migration after the conquest of Makkah, but (there remains) jihad and intention. And when you are called to go forth, then go forth."
Hadith 4796
عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ عَمُودُ الْإِسْلَامِ وَذُرْوَةُ سَنَامِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jihad is the pillar of Islam and its highest peak.
Hadith 4797
عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلْبَرَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ الرَّجُلُ يَحْمِلُ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَهُوَ مِمَّنْ أَلْقَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ قَالَ لَا لَأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَعَثَ رَسُولَهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ {فَقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ إِلَّا نَفْسَكَ} [النساء: 84] إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ فِي النَّفَقَةِ
Abu Ishaq says: I said to Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him): A man attacks the polytheists, is he the one who throws himself into destruction with his own hand? He said: No, because Allah Almighty sent His Messenger and said: Strive in the way of Allah, you will not be held responsible except for your own self. This is about spending wealth.
Hadith 4798
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مِرْدَاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ الشَّامَ أَتْيَةً فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ غَلِيظُ الشَّفَتَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ ضَخْمُ الشَّفَتَيْنِ وَالْأَنْفِ إِذَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ سِلَاحٌ فَسَأَلُوهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ خُذُوا مِنْ هَذَا السِّلَاحِ وَاسْتَصْلِحُوهُ وَجَاهِدُوا بِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا بِلَالٌ
It is narrated from Amr bin Mirdas, he says: I came to Syria and saw a man with thick lips and a broad nose, weapons were placed before him. Then they asked him, and he was saying: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O people! Take these weapons and prepare them and strive in the way of Allah with them. I asked: Who is this man? The people informed me that this is Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him.
Hadith 4799
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا نَخْرُجُ نُجَاهِدُ مَعَكُمْ قَالَ لَا جِهَادُكُنَّ الْحَجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ هُوَ لَكُنَّ جِهَادٌ
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: O Messenger of Allah! Should we not go out to perform jihad with you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, your jihad is Hajj Mabroor, this is your jihad.
Hadith 4800
عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْجِهَادِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَإِنَّهُ بَابٌ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يُذْهِبُ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْهَمَّ وَالْغَمَّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Engage yourselves in striving in the way of Allah, for it is one of the gates of Paradise, and through it Allah removes distress and sorrow.
