It is narrated from Ibn Hanfiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! What is your opinion regarding this, that after you, if I have a son, should I give him your name and your kunyah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Yes, that is fine. The narrator says: This was permission from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
