Section on Encouragement to Beautify the Name and What Has Been Reported Regarding the Names of Some Angels
Hadith 4748
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكُمْ تُدْعَوْنَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِأَسْمَائِكُمْ وَأَسْمَاءِ آبَائِكُمْ فَحَسِّنُوا أَسْمَاءَكُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, on the Day of Resurrection you will be called by your names and the names of your fathers, so keep good names for yourselves.
Hadith 4749
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ قَالَ لِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا اسْمُ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَاسْمُ مِيكَائِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ
Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata says: Ali bin Hussain, may Allah have mercy on him, said to me: The name of Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him, is Abdullah, and the name of Mikaeel (Michael), peace be upon him, is Ubaidullah.
