It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man: I have been commanded regarding the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Adha); Allah Almighty has made this day a festival for this Ummah. The man said: What is your opinion if I have only a goat belonging to my son, should I sacrifice it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, rather on the day of sacrifice, cut your hair, trim your nails, shorten your mustache, and shave the hair below the navel; this act will be considered a complete sacrifice for you in the sight of Allah Almighty.
