Hadith 4616
عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَحَرْنَا الْبَعِيرَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَالْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We performed Hajj with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and we slaughtered a camel on behalf of seven people and a cow on behalf of seven people.
Hadith 4617
عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَشْتَرِكَ فِي الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ كُلُّ سَبْعَةٍ مِنَّا فِي بَدَنَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded us that seven people among us can share in a camel and a cow.
Hadith 4618
عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَاقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْحُدَيْبِيَّةِ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً قَالَ فَنَحَرَ الْبَدَنَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took seventy camels in the year of Hudaybiyyah, and he also said: On that occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had one camel slaughtered on behalf of seven people.
Hadith 4619
عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ نَحَرْنَا بِالْحُدَيْبِيَّةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَدَنَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَالْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: At the place of Hudaybiyyah, in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we sacrificed a camel on behalf of seven people and likewise slaughtered a cow on behalf of seven people.
Hadith 4620
عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ كُنَّا نَتَمَتَّعُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَذْبَحُ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ نَشْتَرِكُ فِيهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We performed ‘Umrah along with Hajj with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and for each cow, seven people participated in its sacrifice, that is, seven people shared in one cow.
Hadith 4621
عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ حَذْفٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ شَرَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّتِهِ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْبَقَرَةِ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَفِي لَفْظٍ أَشْرَكَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) included seven people among the Muslims in one cow.
Hadith 4622
عَنْ مُجَالِدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الشَّعْبِيُّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قُلْتُ الْجَزُورُ وَالْبَقَرَةُ تُجْزِئُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ قَالَ يَا شَعْبِيُّ وَلَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَنْفُسٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَنَّ الْجَزُورَ وَالْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لِرَجُلٍ أَكَذَاكَ يَا فُلَانُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ مَا شَعَرْتُ بِهَذَا
Mujalid bin Saeed says: Sha’bi narrated to me that he said: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: Do a camel and a cow suffice for seven people? He said: O Sha’bi! Do a camel and a cow have seven souls that they suffice for seven people? He said: Yes, the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed this method, that seven people will share in a camel and a cow. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: O so-and-so! Is the matter like this? He said: Yes. He said: I was not aware of this.
Hadith 4623
عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ حُجَيَّةَ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ الْبَقَرَةِ فَقَالَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ فَقَالَ مَكْسُورَةُ الْقَرْنِ فَقَالَ لَا يَضُرُّكَ قَالَ الْعَرْجَاءُ قَالَ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْمَنْسَكَ فَاذْبَحْ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَسْتَثْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ
Hujiyyah narrates that a man asked Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) about a cow. He said: On behalf of seven people. He asked: If its horn is broken? He said: This thing will not harm you. He asked: If the animal is lame? He said: When it reaches the place of sacrifice, then slaughter it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to carefully observe the eyes and ears.
Hadith 4624
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحَرَ عَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ بَقَرَةً فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered a cow on behalf of his wives.
Hadith 4625
عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَحَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا بَقَرَةً فِي حَجَّتِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of Hajj, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered a cow on behalf of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 4626
عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ زَعَمَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسَمَ غَنَمًا يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَالَ اذْبَحُوهَا لِعُمْرَتِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا تُجْزِئُ عَنْكُمْ فَأَصَابَ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ تَيْسٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed goats among his companions on the Day of Sacrifice and said: Sacrifice them for your Umrah; they will suffice for you. On that day, Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) received a one-year-old goat.
