It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I performed two rak'ahs, that is, shortened prayers, in Mina with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and with Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). I wish that my two rak'ahs would be accepted in place of those four rak'ahs.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: I performed two rak‘ahs with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in Mina, two rak‘ahs with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, two rak‘ahs with Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, and at the beginning of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, I also performed two rak‘ahs.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him and Sayyiduna Aws bin Hadthan (may Allah be pleased with him) during the days of Tashreeq to announce that only a believer will enter Paradise and the days of Tashreeq are days of eating and drinking.
