It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, a man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: O Messenger of Allah! I shaved my head before offering the sacrifice? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gestured with his hand and said: There is no harm. Another man said: I performed the sacrifice before the stoning? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gestured with his hand that there is no harm in it. On that day, regarding the precedence and delay of these matters, whoever asked anything, in response the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gestured with his hand and said: There is no harm.

I thought that shaving the head comes before sacrifice, so I shaved my head before sacrificing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now perform the sacrifice, there is no harm in it. Meanwhile, another man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I thought that sacrificing comes before stoning, so I performed the sacrifice before stoning. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no harm in it, now perform the stoning. On that day, whoever asked about advancing or delaying any of these matters, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Now do it, there is no harm in it. The narrator, Abdur Razzaq, said: A man came and said: O Messenger of Allah! I thought that shaving the head comes before stoning, so I shaved my head before stoning. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now perform the stoning, there is no harm in it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, after completing the sacrifices, sat down for the people. Whatever question was asked regarding the precedence or delay of any matter, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: "There is no harm, there is no harm." Until a man came and said: "I shaved my head before the sacrifice." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no harm." Then another man came and said: "I shaved my head before the stoning." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no harm." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, also said: "All of Arafah is a place of standing, all of Muzdalifah is a place of standing, and all of Mina is a place of sacrifice, and all the streets of Makkah are pathways and places of sacrifice."
