بَابُ وَقْتِ رَمْيِ جَمْرَةِ الْعَقَبَةِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ
Chapter: The Time for Stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah on the Day of Sacrifice
Hadith 4500
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَمِسْعَرٌ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْعُرَنِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَدَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُغَيْلِمَةَ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَلَى حُمُرَاتٍ لَنَا مِنْ جَمْعٍ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: بِلَيْلٍ فَجَعَلَ يَلْطَخُ أَفْخَاذَنَا وَيَقُولُ: ((أُبَيْنِيَّ لَا تَرْمُوا الْجَمْرَةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ)) وَزَادَ سُفْيَانُ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: مَا إِخَالُ أَحَدًا يَعْقِلُ يَرْمِي حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent the boys of Banu Abdul Muttalib from Muzdalifah at night, mounted on donkeys. In Sufyan’s narration, it is stated: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would pat our thighs and say: My dear sons! Do not throw pebbles at the Jamrah until the sun has risen. Sufyan said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: I do not think that any intelligent person would perform the Rami before sunrise.
Hadith 4501
عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ بِهِ مَعَ أَهْلِهِ إِلَى مِنَى يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَرَمَوْا الْجَمْرَةَ مَعَ الْفَجْرِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent him with his family towards Mina on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, and they performed the Rami as soon as dawn broke.
Hadith 4502
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعُقْبَةِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ضُحًى وَرَمَى فِي سَائِرِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ مَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the stoning of Jamrah Aqabah on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah at the time of forenoon, and during the remaining days of Tashreeq, he performed it after the decline of the sun.
Hadith 4503
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) رَمَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجَمْرَةَ الْأُولَى يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ضُحًى وَرَمَاهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed the stoning of the first Jamrah on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah at the time of forenoon, and after that (on the remaining days) he performed it after the decline of the sun.
Hadith 4504
عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ: وَلَا أَدْرِي بِكَمْ رَمَى الْجَمْرَةَ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I do not know how many pebbles you threw at the Jamrah.
Hadith 4505
عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تُوَافِيَ مَعَهُ صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِمَكَّةَ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed her to meet him in Makkah at the time of the morning prayer on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah.
Hadith 4506
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ جَمِيلٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عَطَاءً وَابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ وَعِكْرِمَةَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَرْمُونَ الْجَمْرَةَ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي: يَا أَبَا سُلَيْمَانَ فِي أَيِّ سَنَةٍ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ عُمَرَ؟ قَالَ: سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةَ وَقْعَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Narrated from Nafi' bin 'Umar Jumahi, he says: I saw 'Ata', Ibn Abi Mulaika, and 'Ikrimah bin Khalid, all of them would perform the stoning (rami) before Fajr on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah. Imam Ahmad asked them: Abu Sulayman! In which year did you hear this from Nafi' bin 'Umar? They said: In 69 AH, the year in which the incident of the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) occurred.
