Hadith 4476
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived at Muzdalifah, where he performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers, then spent the night there until morning came. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to Quzah and stood there and said: I have stood here, but all of Muzdalifah is a place for standing (Wuquf). After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the Valley of Muhassir, stopped there, and then urged his she-camel, which started running and continued running until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) crossed that valley. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped his she-camel and took Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) behind him as a rider, and while walking, reached Jamrah Aqabah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned it, and then went to the place of sacrifice and said: This is the place of sacrifice (where I have performed sacrifices), and all of Mina is a place for sacrifice, … .
Hadith 4477
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me, while he was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on his mount on the return from Arafah. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that people were urging their mounts to run fast, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a caller to announce: Racing horses and camels is not righteousness; proceed calmly.
Hadith 4478
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the practice of racing mounts was initiated by the Bedouins. They would stand on both sides of the path where other people passed, and they would hang sticks, quivers, and large bowls from their mounts. Then, when they moved, these items would make noises, and the animals, upon hearing these sounds, would start running fast. However, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was seen on this occasion pulling the reins of his she-camel towards himself to restrain her, so that the camel’s ears were touching her shoulder bone, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was gesturing with his hand and saying: O people! Walk calmly, O people! Adhere to tranquility.
Hadith 4479
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at Muzdalifah, and when everything became bright before the sun had risen, he (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from there.
Hadith 4480
Amr bin Maymoon says: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in the Fajr prayer at Muzdalifah, and after that he stood (in vigil) and said: The polytheists would not depart from here before sunrise, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) opposed them. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) departed from there before sunrise.
Hadith 4481
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The polytheists would not depart from Muzdalifah until the sun rose over the Thabir mountain. Abdur Razzaq said that they used to say: O Thabir! Make the sun rise and illuminate the earth so that we may go to Mina and perform sacrifices, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) opposed them and departed from Muzdalifah before sunrise.
Hadith 4482
It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Yazid that when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) departed from Muzdalifah, he recited the Talbiyah. But it was said about him: "Is he a Bedouin (that he is now reciting the Talbiyah)?" Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Have these people forgotten or gone astray? I heard the one upon whom Surah Al-Baqarah was revealed, reciting 'Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk' at this very place."
Hadith 4483
Narrated from Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the return from Muzdalifah to Mina, I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on his mount. During this time, a Bedouin came before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he had seated his beautiful daughter with him on his mount and was traveling alongside the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I repeatedly began to look at the girl, but when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me, he turned my face away. I looked at her again, so he again turned my face away. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did this three times, while I was not refraining, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued reciting the Talbiyah until he reached the stoning of Jamrah al-Aqabah.
