بَابُ كَمْ حَجَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاعْتَمَرَ
Chapter: How Many Times the Prophet Performed Hajj and Umrah
Hadith 4110
عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزَا تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ، وَأَنَّهُ حَجَّ بَعْدَ مَا هَاجَرَ حَجَّةً وَاحِدَةً، حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ: وَبِمَكَّةَ أُخْرَى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) undertook nineteen expeditions and performed only one Hajj after migration, which was the Farewell Hajj. Abu Ishaq said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed one Hajj (before migration) in Makkah.
Hadith 4111
عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا: كَمِ اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: أَرْبَعًا، عُمْرَتَهُ الَّتِي صَدَّهُ عَنْهَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ، وَعُمْرَتَهُ أَيْضًا فِي الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ، وَعُمْرَتَهُ حِينَ قَسَمَ غَنِيمَةَ حُنَيْنٍ مِنَ الْجِعْرَانَةِ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ، وَعُمْرَتَهُ مَعَ حَجَّتِهِ
Qatadah says: I asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "How many ‘Umrahs did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform?" He said: Four. The first was the ‘Umrah from which the polytheists prevented him; this was in Dhu al-Qa‘dah. The second was the one he performed the following year, also in Dhu al-Qa‘dah. The third was the one he performed from Ja‘ranah at the time of the distribution of the spoils of the Battle of Hunayn, and this too was in Dhu al-Qa‘dah. And the fourth was the one he performed along with the Farewell Hajj.
Hadith 4112
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ عُمَرٍ، عُمْرَةَ الْحُدَيْبِيَّةِ، وَعُمْرَةَ الْقَضَاءِ وَالثَّالِثَةَ مِنَ الْجِعْرَانَةِ، وَالرَّابِعَةَ الَّتِي مَعَ حَجَّتِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed four Umrahs: one was the Umrah of Hudaybiyyah, the second was the Umrah of Qada, the third from the place of Ji’ranah, and the fourth along with Hajj.
Hadith 4113
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ اعْتَمَرَ ثَلَاثَ عُمَرٍ، كُلُّ ذَلِكَ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ يُلَبِّي حَتَّى يَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed three Umrahs, and all of them were in the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would continue reciting the Talbiyah until he touched the Black Stone.
Hadith 4114
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: مَا اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ وَلَقَدْ اعْتَمَرَ ثَلَاثَ عُمَرٍ
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah in the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah, and he performed a total of three Umrahs.
Hadith 4115
عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: سُئِلَ كَمِ اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: لَقَدْ عَلِمَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِ اعْتَمَرَ ثَلَاثَةً، سِوَى الَّتِي قَرَنَهَا بِحَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ
Mujahid says that it was asked from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) how many Umrahs did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform? He said: Two. But Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) knows that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed a total of three Umrahs besides the Umrah of Hajj.
