Hadith 4099
Ikrimah bin Khalid says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about performing Umrah before Hajj. He said: There is no harm for the one who performs Umrah before Hajj; rather, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself performed Umrah before Hajj.
Hadith 4100
. (Second chain) Ikrimah says: I came to Madinah Munawwarah with a few people from the people of Makkah; actually, we wanted to go for Umrah from there. I met Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and I asked him: We are people living in Makkah, now we have come to Madinah, and we have never performed Hajj, so can we perform Umrah from here? He said: Yes, indeed, what could prevent you from doing so? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed all his Umrahs before Hajj, and we also performed these Umrahs with him (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 4101
Abu Imran Aslam says: I went for Hajj with my masters. I went to Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her: Can I perform Umrah before Hajj? She said: Yes, it is up to you, if you wish you may perform Umrah before Hajj, and if you wish you may do it after. I said that people say that one who has not performed Hajj before cannot perform Umrah. Then I asked the same question to the other Mothers of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with them), and all of them said the same thing that Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) had said. I came back and told them this, then she said: Yes, that is correct, but I will further reassure you, and that is that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O family of Muhammad! Say the Talbiyah for Umrah along with Hajj.
Hadith 4102
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed one ‘Umrah before Hajj and another ‘Umrah before Hajj, but Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: They know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed four ‘Umrahs, and one of those ‘Umrahs was performed along with Hajj.
Hadith 4103
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) became menstruating (during Hajj), but she performed all the rites of Hajj except for the Tawaf of the House of Allah. Then, after she became pure, she performed the Tawaf. When the people began to return, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! You all are returning after performing both Hajj and Umrah, and I will return after performing only Hajj? So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to go with her towards Tan’eem (so that she could perform Umrah), and thus she performed Umrah after Hajj in the month of Dhul-Hijjah.
Hadith 4104
Narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she assumed Ihram for Umrah, but when she reached Makkah, she had not yet performed Tawaf of the House when she began menstruating. Then she assumed Ihram for Hajj and performed all the rites. On the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her that her Tawaf would suffice for both her Hajj and Umrah. But she did not accept this, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent her to Taneem with her brother Abdur Rahman after Hajj, and thus she performed Umrah.
Hadith 4105
Isa bin Abdur Rahman's mother narrates that she asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about performing Umrah after Hajj. She replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent my brother with me; I went outside the Haram and then performed Umrah from there.
Hadith 4106
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) perform Umrah on the night at the valley of Muhassab after Hajj only to abolish a belief of the polytheists, because they used to say: When the signs of the hardship of travel on the camels disappear after the journey of Hajj, the traces of (the pilgrims’) caravans are erased from the roads, and the month of Safar arrives, then it will be permissible for the one performing Umrah to do Umrah.
Hadith 4107
Urwah said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): O Ibn Abbas! How long will you continue to mislead the people? He said: Urwah! What is the matter? He said: You permit people to perform Umrah during the months of Hajj, whereas Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to prohibit this. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This is an act that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself performed. Urwah said: But both of them followed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) more than you and had more knowledge about him.
