Chapter: What Has Been Reported Regarding Fasting in Shawwal, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
Hadith 3966
عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَرِيفٌ مِنْ عُرَفَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مِنْ فَلْقٍ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَشَوَّالًا وَالْأَرْبِعَاءَ وَالْخَمِيسَ وَالْجُمُعَةَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ))
A chief of the Quraysh narrates from his father that he heard these words from the blessed mouth of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: Whoever fasts in the months of Ramadan and Shawwal, and then fasts on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, will enter Paradise.
Hadith 3967
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ): قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَرِيفُ مِنْ عُرْفَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ فَلْقٍ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَشَوَّالًا وَالْأَرْبِعَاءَ وَالْخَمِيسَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ))
(Second chain) The father of a Qurayshi chief narrated that he heard this hadith from the blessed mouth of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan and the month of Shawwal, and then on Wednesdays and Thursdays, will enter Paradise.
