بَابُ صَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مُعَيَّنَةٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ
Chapter: Fasting Three Specified Days from Every Month
Hadith 3958
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، الْخَمِيسَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ وَالْإِثْنَيْنِ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَالْإِثْنَيْنِ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast on these three days every month: the first Thursday of the month, the following Monday, and then the Monday after that.
Hadith 3959
عَنْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَيَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ وَيَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ مِنَ الْجُمُعَةِ الْأُخْرَى
It is narrated from Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to fast three days every month: (in the first week) on Monday and Thursday, and in the second week on Monday.
Hadith 3960
عَنْ هُنَيْدَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ تِسْعَ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ وَيَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، وَثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ أَوَّلَ اثْنَيْنِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ وَخَمِيسَيْنِ
A wife of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, the Day of Ashura, and three days of every month. (The details of these three days are:) the first Monday of every month and two Thursdays.
Hadith 3961
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنِ الصِّيَامِ، فَقَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أَصُومَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، أَوَّلُهَا الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَالْجُمُعَةُ وَالْخَمِيسُ
Huneida narrates from her mother that she went to Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about fasting. She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me to fast on the first Monday, Friday, and Thursday of every month.
