Hadith 3890
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ زَحْزَحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا))
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever fasts for one day in the way of Allah, Allah Almighty, in return, will distance him from Hell by a distance of seventy years.
Hadith 3891
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) has also narrated a similar hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Hadith 3892
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِطَعَامٍ بِمَرِّ الظَّهْرَانِ، فَقَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ: ((ادْنُيَا فَكُلَا))، قَالَا: إِنَّا صَائِمَانِ، قَالَ: ((ارْحِلُوا لِصَاحِبَيْكُمْ، اعْمَلُوا لِصَاحِبَيْكُمْ))
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that at the place of Marr az-Zahran, food was presented to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): "Come close and eat the food." They said: "We are fasting." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Give mounts to these companions of yours and do their share of the work as well."
Hadith 3893
عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ وَاصْطَحَبَ هُوَ وَيَزِيدُ ابْنُ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ فِي سَفَرٍ وَكَانَ يَزِيدُ يَصُومُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِرَارًا يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا مَرِضَ الْعَبْدُ أَوْ سَافَرَ كُتِبَ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ مِثْلُ مَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ مُقِيمًا صَحِيحًا))
Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he and Yazid bin Abi Kabsha were together on a journey. Yazid used to fast during the journey. Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: I have heard Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate many times that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a servant becomes ill or is on a journey, he is given the same reward as he used to receive for the deeds he performed while residing and in good health.
