Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts continuously has, in reality, not fasted at all.

Lady Asma bint Yazid says that a drink was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) offered it to the people to drink. Among them was a man who was fasting. When the drink reached him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Drink. But someone said: O Messenger of Allah! He never breaks his fast. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts continuously has not truly fasted.
