Hadith 3880
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو (بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَا صَامَ مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ))
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts continuously has, in reality, not fasted at all.
Hadith 3881
عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَرَابٍ فَدَارَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ وَفِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ صَائِمٌ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَهُ، قَالَ لَهُ: اشْرَبْ، فَقِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْطِرُ الدَّهْرَ، فَقَالَ يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَا صَامَ مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ))
Lady Asma bint Yazid says that a drink was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) offered it to the people to drink. Among them was a man who was fasting. When the drink reached him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Drink. But someone said: O Messenger of Allah! He never breaks his fast. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts continuously has not truly fasted.
Hadith 3882
عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَصُومُ الدَّهْرَ، قَالَ: ((لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Shukhair (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the person who always fasts. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Neither has he fasted nor has he abandoned it.
Hadith 3883
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ): عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ)) أَوْ قَالَ: ((لَمْ يَصُمْ وَلَمْ يُفْطِرْ))
(Second chain) It is narrated from his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), that when a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about perpetual fasting, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He neither fasted nor did he abandon it.
Hadith 3884
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ ضُيِّقَتْ عَلَيْهِ جَهَنَّمُ هَكَذَا)) وَقَبَضَ كَفَّهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Whoever fasts continuously, Hell will be made so narrow for him. Along with this, he described the state by closing his palm.
Hadith 3885
عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! إِنَّ فُلَانًا لَا يُفْطِرُ نَهَارًا الدَّهْرَ، فَقَالَ: ((لَا أَفْطَرَ وَلَا صَامَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain, may Allah be pleased with him, that someone said: O Messenger of Allah! So-and-so man never misses a fast any day. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He has neither broken his fast nor has he kept a fast.
