Hadith 3869
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Verily, Friday is a day of Eid, so do not fast on this day of Eid, except that you fast a day before it or a day after it.
Hadith 3870
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting only on Friday, except if it is a habit of fasting on other days as well.
Hadith 3871
Sayyida Laila, the wife of Bashir, says that Sayyiduna Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): I will fast on Friday and will not speak to anyone on that day, (is this permissible)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not fast only on Friday, unless you are also fasting on other days or as a habit in the month, and Friday happens to be one of those days. As for your remaining silent, by my life! Speaking to enjoin good and forbid evil is better than remaining silent.
Hadith 3872
It is narrated from a member of Banu Harith bin Ka'b, he says: I was sitting with Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), when a man came to him and asked: Abu Hurairah! Have you forbidden people from fasting on Friday? He said: No, by Allah's life! But by the Lord of this sanctity! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: None of you should ever fast on Friday, except that it coincides with days in which he is already fasting.

Hassan bin Noah Hamsi says: I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr, he said: O people! Do you see this palm of mine? I testify that I placed it on the palm of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and pledged allegiance to him. The fact is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting only on Saturday, except for an obligatory fast. Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you find nothing to eat except the bark of a tree, then eat that (to indicate that you are not fasting).

She said: No. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Then eat, for there is neither reward nor sin for fasting on Saturday.
