A companion (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the place of Suqya, water was being poured over his head due to heat or thirst, while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to keep the fast until he reached the place of Kadid, where he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for water and broke his fast, and the people also broke their fast. This incident occurred during the journey of the Conquest of Makkah. In another narration, these additional words are mentioned: The one who narrated to me said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pouring water over his head due to the intensity of the heat, while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of fasting.
