Hadith 3762
Ma’dan bin Abi Talhah says: Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) told me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) vomited and thus broke his fast. After that, I met the Messenger’s freed slave, Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), in the Grand Mosque of Damascus and said to him: Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) has narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) vomited, and thus broke his fast. He said: Yes, he spoke the truth, then I poured water for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for ablution.
Hadith 3763
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) vomited by himself, thus he broke his fast. After that, water was brought and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) performed ablution.
Hadith 3764
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a fasting person is overcome by vomiting, then there is no make-up (qada) upon him, but whoever vomits deliberately, he must make up the fast.
Hadith 3765
Sayyiduna Fadala Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us on a day on which he used to fast, but it happened that he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for a vessel of water and drank it. We said: O Messenger of Allah! You used to fast on this day? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, but I had vomited.
Hadith 3766
Abu Shaibah Mehri, who was a preacher (a reputable storyteller) among the people in Constantinople, says: Someone said to Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him): Tell us a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) vomit, and in this way, he broke his fast.
