Hadith 3756
A companion of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) out of compassion for the companions, forbade them from continuous fasting and from cupping while fasting, but he did not declare these acts as unlawful. The wording of one narration is: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not declare either of these two acts unlawful for any of his companions.
Hadith 3757
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had cupping done while he was fasting and in the state of ihram. Then unconsciousness overcame him, and for this reason, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked cupping for the fasting person.
Hadith 3758
(Second chain) They said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had cupping done between Mecca the Honored and Medina the Radiant while he was fasting and in the state of ihram, (while he, peace and blessings be upon him, was on a journey).
Hadith 3759
(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, had cupping done at the place of Qahah while he, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was in a state of fasting.
Hadith 3760
(4th Chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had cupping performed on his head while in the state of ihram.
Hadith 3761
Hilal bin Ikrimah says: I asked Ikrimah whether a fasting person can get cupping done. He said: It is disliked because it may cause weakness. Then he narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram, but the reason for this was that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had eaten the meat of a poisoned goat, which a woman from Khaybar had given him (peace and blessings be upon him) to eat.
