بَابُ صَدَقَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا
Chapter: A Woman Giving Charity from Her Husband’s House
Hadith 3628
عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ رَجُلٌ شَدِيدٌ وَيَأْتِينِي الْمِسْكِينُ فَأَتَصَدَّقُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((ارْضَخِي وَلَا تُوعِي فَيُوعِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ))
Narrated by Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that my husband, Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), is a strict-tempered man, so if a needy person comes to me, can I give charity from his house without his permission? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give a little something and do not be miserly, otherwise Allah Almighty will also become miserly towards you.
Hadith 3629
(وَعَنْهَا مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَيْسَ لِي إِلَّا مَا أَدْخَلَ الزُّبَيْرُ بَيْتِي؟ قَالَ: ((أَنْفِقِي وَلَا تُوكِي فَيُوكَى عَلَيْكِ))
(Second chain) Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): I have only that which my husband, Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), brings to my house. (So should I give charity from it?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Spend and do not withhold, otherwise it will be withheld from you as well.
Hadith 3630
(وَعَنْهَا مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ بِنَحْوِهِ وَفِيهِ:) انْفَحِي أَوْ ارْضَخِي أَوْ أَنْفِقِي وَلَا تُوعِي فَيُوعِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ وَلَا تُحْصِي فَيُحْصِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ))
(The third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Spend, and do not hoard and withhold, otherwise Allah the Exalted will withhold from you as well. And do not give by counting and measuring, otherwise Allah the Exalted will also give to you by counting and measuring.
