It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that it is obligatory to give one sa’ of dates and half a sa’ of wheat as Sadaqat al-Fitr on every free and slave, male and female, young and old, poor and rich. Mu’ammar says: I have received the information that Imam Zuhri used to narrate this hadith as marfu’ from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 3566

Hasan Basri says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon in the last days of Ramadan and said: O people of Basra! Pay the zakat of your fasts. Hearing this, the people began to look at each other in astonishment. They said: Who among you are the people from Madinah Munawwarah? Stand up and teach your brothers that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has made it obligatory to give half a sa’ of wheat and one sa’ each of barley and dates as Sadaqat al-Fitr on every slave and free person, male and female.
Hadith 3568
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Thalabah ‘Uzri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people two days before Eid al-Fitr and said: “Give one sa’ of wheat on behalf of every two persons, and one sa’ each in the form of dates and barley on behalf of every individual. This charity is obligatory upon every free and slave, young and old.”
Hadith 3569
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Give one sa’ of wheat as Sadaqat al-Fitr on behalf of every small and great, man and woman, free and slave, and rich and poor among you. As for the rich, Allah Almighty will purify him, and as for the poor, Allah Almighty (through other people) will return to him more than what he gave in charity."
Hadith 3570
It is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to give two mudd of wheat as Sadaqat al-Fitr on behalf of a person. This is the same mudd with which you measure grain for transactions.
