Hadith 3537
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took from me the pledge five times, took a firm covenant seven times, and made Allah a witness over me nine times that I would not fear the blame of any blamer regarding Allah. Abu Muthanna says that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: Are you ready to pledge allegiance to me on such a condition for which you will be granted Paradise? I said: Yes, then I extended my hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) specified this condition for me, saying: You will not ask people for anything. I said: Yes, that is fine. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Even if your whip falls down, do not ask for it, rather, get down yourself and pick it up.

Hadith 3538
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We, six or seven or eight individuals, presented ourselves before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: Pledge allegiance to me. I said: O Prophet of Allah! We have already pledged allegiance to you. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: Pledge allegiance to me. So we pledged allegiance to him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) took from us the same pledge as he took from others. After that, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said a word to us in a low tone, and that was: Do not ask people for anything.

Hadith 3539
Mawla-e-Rasool Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Who is there who will guarantee me one thing, and I will guarantee him Paradise? I said: I (am present for this). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Then do not ask people for anything. When Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) would be riding and his stick would fall, he would not ask anyone to pick it up for him, rather he would get down from his mount himself and pick it up.
