Hadith 3408
Under this chapter, the following sub-chapters and hadiths have been mentioned.
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((فِيمَا سَقَتِ السَّمَاءُ وَالْعُيُونُ الْعُشْرُ، وَفِيمَا سَقَتِ السَّانِيَةُ نِصْفُ الْعُشْرِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For crops irrigated by rainwater and springs, one-tenth is due as zakat, and for those irrigated by camels, one-twentieth is due as zakat.
Hadith 3409
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((فِيمَا سَقَتِ الْأَنْهَارُ وَالْغَيْمُ الْعُشُورُ وَفِيمَا سَقَتِ السَّانِيَةُ نِصْفُ الْعُشْرِ))
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: For land irrigated by rivers and rain, one-tenth is due as zakat, and for that which is irrigated by camels, one-twentieth is due as zakat.
Hadith 3410
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((فِيمَا سَقَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَفِيهِ الْعُشْرُ، وَمَا سُقِيَ بِالْغَرْبِ وَالدَّالِيَةِ فَفِيهِ نِصْفُ الْعُشْرِ))، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: فَحَدَّثْتُ أَبِي بِحَدِيثِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ فَأَنْكَرَهُ جِدًّا وَكَانَ أَبِي لَا يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ لِضَعْفِهِ عِنْدَهُ وَإِنْكَارِهِ لِحَدِيثِهِ
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For the (crop) irrigated by the sky, one-tenth is due as zakat, and for that which is irrigated by bucket and camel, one-twentieth is due.
Hadith 3411
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسُقٍ صَدَقَةٌ، وَلَا فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسِ أَوَاقٍ صَدَقَةٌ، وَلَا دُونَ خَمْسِ ذَوْدٍ صَدَقَةٌ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no zakat on less than five wasq (of crops), no zakat on less than five uqiyyah (of silver), and no zakat on less than five camels.
Hadith 3412
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ وَلَا حَبٍّ صَدَقَةٌ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no zakat on dates and grain less than five wasq.
Hadith 3413
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((الْوَسْقُ سِتُّونَ صَاعًا))
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are sixty (60) sa’ in one wasq.
Hadith 3414
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ صَدَقَةٌ وَالْوَسْقُ سِتُّونَ مَخْتُومًا))
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no zakat on a crop less than five wasq, and one wasq is equal to sixty sa’ measured with a sealed measure.
Hadith 3415
عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهَ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَهْلِ هَجَرَ شَكَّ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ آتِي الْحَائِطَ، يَكُونُ بَيْنَ الْإِخْوَةِ فَيُسْلِمُ أَحَدُهُمْ فَآخُذُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِ الْعُشْرَ، وَمِنَ الْآخَرِ الْخَرَاجَ
Sayyiduna Alaa bin Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me towards Bahrain or Hajar. Whenever I would enter a garden that belonged to different brothers and one of them had become Muslim, I would take one-tenth (ushr) as zakat from the Muslim and collect kharaj from the others.
Hadith 3416
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ كُلِّ جَادٍّ عَشَرَةَ أَوْسُقٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ بِقِنْوٍ، يُعَلَّقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لِلْمَسَاكِينِ
Syedna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that whoever harvests ten wasq of dates should hang a bunch in the mosque for the needy.
Hadith 3417
عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ: عِنْدَنَا كِتَابُ مُعَاذٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا أَخَذَ الصَّدَقَةَ مِنَ الْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ
Musa bin Talha says: We have a written document from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him), in which it is written that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) collected zakat only from wheat, barley, dried grapes, and dates.
