Hadith 3343
Under this chapter, the following sub-chapters and hadiths have been mentioned.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had forbidden visiting graves, (certain specific) vessels, and keeping the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days. But later, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I had forbidden you from visiting graves, now you may visit them, for they remind you of the Hereafter. I had also forbidden you from (using) certain vessels, now you may drink from them as well, but avoid every intoxicating thing. And I had forbidden you from keeping the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days, now you may keep it for as long as you wish.
Hadith 3344
Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates a similar tradition from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
Hadith 3345
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrated a similar hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). However, in it are these words: I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but now if you visit the graveyard, do not utter any obscene words.
Hadith 3346
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but then I realized that visiting them softens the hearts, brings tears to the eyes, and reminds one of the Hereafter. Therefore, visit the graves, but do not commit any indecent acts.
Hadith 3347
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) visited the grave of his mother, and he wept himself and made those with him weep as well. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I sought permission from my Lord to seek forgiveness for my mother, but I was not granted permission. Then I sought permission to visit her grave, and Allah Almighty granted me permission. So you too should visit graves, for they remind you of death.
