Hadith 3305
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: A Jewish woman came to me and asked for perfume. So when I gave her the perfume, she said: May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave. This supplication caused doubt in my heart, until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came. I told him about this and asked: O Messenger of Allah! Is there punishment in the grave? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, the dead are punished in their graves in such a way that animals hear its sound.
Hadith 3306
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: A Jewish woman used to serve me. Whenever I gave her anything, she would say: May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me, I said: O Messenger of Allah! Is there punishment in the grave before the Day of Resurrection? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, why are you asking this question? I said: Such-and-such Jewish woman, whenever we give her anything, she says: May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Jews lie, and they fabricate many lies against Allah, there will be no punishment before the Day of Resurrection. After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained for some days, as long as Allah willed. One day, at midday, he (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, while he had covered himself with a cloth, and his eyes had become red, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was proclaiming in a loud voice: O people! Trials are coming upon you like pieces of a dark night. O people! If you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little. O people! Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave, indeed the punishment of the grave is true.
Hadith 3307
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me, while at that time a Jewish woman was sitting with me, saying: Do you know that people will be tested in their graves? Hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) trembled and said: Only the Jewish people will be tested in their graves. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Only a few nights had passed when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Do you know, it has been revealed to me that indeed people will be tested in their graves? Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: After that, I used to hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
Hadith 3308
Abdullah bin Qasim says: A neighbor of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated to me that at the time of dawn, she used to hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating: "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave and from the trial of the grave."
Hadith 3309
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal and said: One of his eyes will be like a green glass, and you should seek Allah's protection from the punishment of the grave.
Hadith 3310
Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah says: I heard from Sayyidah Umm Khalid bint Khalid bin Sa‘id bin ‘As radiyallahu ‘anha, and from no one else, that she said she heard it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. She heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
Hadith 3311
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyidah Umm Habibah bint Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with her) made this supplication: O Allah! Grant me the opportunity to benefit from my husband, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), my father Abu Sufyan, and my brother Mu'awiyah. But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: You have asked Allah for matters whose times and days have already been appointed, and their sustenance has already been distributed. Nothing can be advanced or delayed from its appointed time. If you had supplicated to Allah that He protect you from the punishment of the Fire and the grave, that would have been better and more virtuous for you.
